Assuming that everyone is using a high-speed connection, loading your site with animation or heavy use of graphics, alienates more customers than it will retain. Firewall-friendly programming - With the increasing use of firewalls for home computing, and their proliferation throughout the business world, what can and can't be viewed by individuals using your website is more unpredictable than it was in the good old days, before broadband came along and increased the risks from viruses, hackers, and so on. Many common firewall packages block advertising objects, cookies, javascript, and flash animation, so if your site relies on these tools what you see and what your customers see may not tally. To increase the likelihood that your customers see the site as you intended, we advocate limited use of all these features.

Disability access - Did you know you are required by law to ensure your website is accessible to disabled users? For speciality browsers, such as XXX (which reads the page contents out to blind users) certain coding requirements must be met. Relying on Flash or other graphic tools means that your website does not meet these accessibility standards.
